Suggest Treatment For Hard Bump On Knee

default
Posted on Thu, 28 Aug 2014
Question: I woke up this morning and found a hard bump right below my left knee cap. It is hard and not moveable, it is hot to the touch. I was diagnosed a couple of months ago with Osteo Arteritis in my right knee but this is my left knee which is my good knee? Hot to the touch and a lump below the knee cap, no pain.

I have been actively riding my bike the past two days prior. Two days ago rode 12.5 miles and yesterday struggled but rode 10 miles. Walked hilly golf course also onTuesday. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Probably linke to exercise!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this lump that you have reported. From the information you have provided, this is most likely linked to the intense physical activities you have carried out recently. I will suggest that you take some rest, pain medications and observe the progress of this lump. It should normally regress progressively.

If this fails to occur or you present with serious pains, I will suggest that you get a medical consultation for examination and at least an xray. This will shed more light on the underlying pathology especially at the level of the joint and the bones.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
