Question: yes i had a temporary tooth put in today and i am bleeding from around the tooth. i have rinced with water etc. but the bleeding continues. what should i do?

Looks like gum inflammation or gum impingement..

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it looks like the temporary cap that you have got placed is either impinging over the gum leading to gum injury and bleeding while it can also be due to Infection in the gum in that area leading to bleeding..

You should consult your treating Dentist and get evaluated..

If the gum is being impinged then the crown will be adjusted accordingly..

In case of gum inflammation cleaning of the gum in that area followed by irritation with antiseptic solution and a short course of antibiotics will help..

As of now do cool compresses over the area or rinse with cold water..
Take a gauze and put gentle pressure over the bleeding area as it will also help in reducing bleeding...
