Brief Answer:
Diet and exercise.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
You asked a good question, often not asked by many.
Diabetes that starts during pregnancy is called Gestational Diabetes (GDM). It may resolve after pregnancy or may continue for sometime or may become permanent thereafter.
You need to be strict on diet. Avoid sugar containing products, sweets, honey, cheese, fruit juices and some fruits like XXXXXXX and banana. Take plenty of fibre containing foods and green leafy vegetables. Take coffee and tea sugarless, green tea is preferable.
Exercise is as important. See that you exercise at least half an hour a day, in the form of walking or jogging. Take plenty of fluids and maintain strict timings for food.
If your sugar levels are not under control with these, you need to start on medications and insulin as per requirements which will be ordered by your physician.
Hope this helped.
