Suggest Treatment For Genital Warts

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Dec 2015
Question: HI! I have genital warts and they are being treated with a cream. Problem is,my skin is raw. It hurts to move. On top of that, it is oozing so I have to wear a pad all the time and it is making it so much worse! I can't even exercise any more. What do I do?
Does genital warts mean I can't have sex again? I don't want to endanger a partner. I also have HPV, so it is even worse. I am worried about it and I need to know.

antibiotics are required

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
Genital warts are caused by Hupan Papilloma virus (HPV ) . So having warts automatically means that you have HPV virus. Usually the ointments or creams that are given for treatment of warts cause erosion of the skin . So I prefer to advise application of topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin over the wart twice daily. It prevents from secondary bacterial infection of skin over the wart.
You may need short course of oral antibiotics in case it is oozy or pus dicharge is seen.
Once completely treated , it does not spread from one person to another. So you may have sexual contact once the warts completely disappear.
You should visit your doctor so that he can examine your warts and advise you accordingly. You can share my opinion with him. I hope it helps.
Take care

Thank you so much! Now that I know it"s infected, I'll go to the doctor right away and start on the antibiotic cream. I'll have them check for infection. I was a afraid you'd have a more painful treatment to offer! I'll stop using Aldarra since there is oozing and just go to the doctor. Thanks again! You're a lifesaver!
