Suggest Treatment For Fungal Infection Above Right Lip

Question: I have a fungal infection above my right lip. The Dermatologist said it was a fungal and it only occurs when the dura mater has been opened. What is the name of the condition and What is the name of the fungus? Also, Is it a chronic condition and is there anything else I should know about this in condition?

I was treated with ketaconazole and goes away, but it always come back.

Hello,
Chelitis can often be causes by the fungal infection candida. Strep is another likely cause. You may consider using a hydrocortisone in addition to your medication. Coating with vasoline or lip protector such as blister may help.
Candida is a common fungal infection found in other parts of the body which can explain likely reoccurrence. Saliva wiped on the lips may expose you to the fungus. Try to figure out any triggers. Even dandruff is often fungal. Touching your head, hair and lips can be related.
