Folate deficiency can be treated by : (1) using foods with folate (2) supplements

Foods that naturally contain folate include:spinach, brussel sprouts, asparagus, romaine lettuce, avocado, kidney beans, green peas, mustard, broccoli, mustard greens

It has also been added to cereals, rice and bread.

Folate can also be increased by using supplements. Most multivitamins contain folate but if the amount is not enough or you do not wish to use a multivitamin, folate can be taken by itself
