Suggest Treatment For Flu, Headaches As Well As Hot And Cold Chills
Question: My son who is 16 and 145lbs has been I think battling the flu for about 24hrs now. His temp has ranged from 36 to 38.5 degrees Celsius. He has headaches off and on. As well as hot and cold chills. His tonsils have been swelling up and down as well. I've been trying to keep him as hydrate as possible. I'm not sure if I should get him to see a doctor or if it's something that his body just needs to fight off. Thankyou

Viral infections are quite common and recurrent especially in rainy and changing seasons.
To be managed with symptomatic drugs like paraceatamol and some antihistaminic drug like CPM etc.
Paracetamol to be given @15mg/day 4 to 6 houry basis and SOS. Simple Viral infections may take 5 to 7 days to subside.
But throat pain and swelling of the tonsills might be requiring consultation with the physician to rule any infection in the tonsills ( tonsillitis/phayringitis).If so then administration of some relvant antibiotic with the superivision of doctor is important.
Throat pain and mild infection of the throat is also alleviated with antiseptic gargels easily available with the chemists.
Hydration and nutirtion to be taken care of with proper rest,
