Suggest Treatment For Floaters In Eyes

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Jan 2015
Question: I have been having a lot of after images especially when looking at computers

I can't look at sky or bright white light it almost looks like visual snow but no snow falling so I'm not quite sure if it is. It only happens when I look at bright white background like on computer or cloudy or blue sky
Also I have floater in both eyes, really doesn't bother me
Went to optometrist, was told nothing was found but it could be inflammation in eye

I want to post a pic of what it looks like sometimes when I look at cpu screen

I'm scared it could be signs of early visual snow

Is there anyway I can help prevent it from progressing?

Brief Answer:
It requires examination of eye by ophthalmoscopy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having problem of seeing after images and floaters on looking at a bright back ground.
This indicates problems in the posterior segment involving the vitreous in the form of vitreous degenerations, vitreous detachment....
Most of these conditions are not harmful and does not require treatment.
But evaluation of posterior segment is needed to look for conditions like inflammation of the posterior segment like vitritis, retinitis, retinal thinning, retinal degenerations....
Hence I advice you to consult your eye doctor for examination of the posterior segment of the eye by ophthalmoscopy to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.
Do write back to me with the examination report so that I can advice you more accurately depending on the underlying cause.
Hope this is helpful to you.

Thank you

I actually went to an eye doctor yesterday, he dilated my pupils and search for any causes but was not able to find any, I think when I look at clouds or bright light I see some visual snow but I'm not sure, I think to myself if I had visual snow I wouldn't have to ask or think I would know

Brief Answer:
Normal eye examination rules out eye problems.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Since the eye examination is normal no need to worry, this rules out all the eye problems as I had mentioned in the previous answer.

The other things that need to be considered are vision and accommodation related problems. This may be because of improper or inadequate accommodation. Eye exercises like convergence exercises by seeing a pen tip as it is brought from far towards the eye and use of multivitamins and antioxidants can be helpful.

The other things which need to be considered are primary headaches like prodtomal phase of migraine with visual aura.

Hence I advice you to go for vision and refraction testing if it is not done previously by consulting your ophthalmologist or optometrist. If it cones normal you need to consult your physician doctor to rule out primary causes like migraine.....

Hope this is helpful to you.
