Suggest Treatment For Flatulence While On Norvasc

Posted on Tue, 9 May 2017
Question: Good afternoon Dr. My question is in regard to a generic prescription I just rec'd through Caremark. I rec'd my prescription of Amlodipine Besylate Tab 10 MG.
I have been taking this generic version or Norvasc for a number of years w/o side effect. However I find I am experiencing an "edgy" feeling along with some stomach gas from the version of medication I rec'd 3/21/17. Do you think my best bet is to have my MD issue a script for Norvasc w/o generic option?
Thank you Dr.

Brief Answer:
definitely an option, or another generic

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks or using healthcare magic

It would be best , as you stated, to see if you can get a prescription for norvasc instead of the generic since it is not agreeing with you.
Another option would be another type of generic, to see if another type agrees with you if the original is not available

Though the active ingredient is essentially the same, there are small differences and also differences in the the inactive ingredient present in the medication that may a difference in terms of the action and possible side effects of the medications.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
