I do get hungry in every 2 to 2.5 hr and there is some amount of acidity which gets accumulated in stomach and it starts paining my lower chest Area. I am little overweight. My height is 5.6 and weight is 76 kg. Is it because of my obesity or I am suffering from Sugar problem (As my both the parents are diabetic). Please suggest what should be the cause of all this problem and what could be the solution.

Brief Answer:
Obesity, diabetes, acidity may be present at same time

Detailed Answer:
Hello there and welcome,

I've gone through your query , let me me assure you at first that there's nothing wrong with feeling hungry in every 2 to 2.5 hrs (but of course the previous diet pattern matters too).

Yes Diabetes tends to have a familial connection but considering your BMI (~23) there's further evaluation required to actually tell whether you're having sugar problem.

I believe you're following a strict diet chart (low carb high protein and fiber) if not then it's the right time to think about it, perhaps a dietitian.

Now i want some more clarification regarding the acidity to comment further. When do you actually feel that it's actually starting?
How does it get resolved?
Whether eating/drinking something actually worsens/improves the acidity..
One more thing , are you indulging into any physical activities??(if not then its high time to do so)

Meanwhile just try taking small frequent portion of meals and avoid spicy/junk foods..

You can try taking Tablet ESMOPRAZOLE 40MG Once Daily before breakfast for 7-10days and get back to me next time ..

let me know how you stay..

Thanks again for contacting HCM..

Thanks Doctor for the reply.

Please find my answers inline:
Q- When do you actually feel that it's actually starting?
A- Nowadays, I feel some pain at the center just below my chest and above my stomach. If I don't eat for next 30 min or 1 hour after this pain.. It starts increasing and pains start appearing near my neck as if some acid is there inside and going up. However, it could be something else also. I just explained what I feel when I don't eat for few hours. This kind of pain was not there approx. 6-8 months ago.
Q- How does it get resolved?
A-Simply when I eat something. After eating it goes down. However sometimes acidity remains after eating also. Then sometimes I take Eno or Limca (cold drink) and sometimes I just don't do anything.

Q- Whether eating/drinking something actually worsens/improves the acidity..
A- Eating/drinking helps reduce Acidity for a while.

Q- One more thing , are you indulging into any physical activities??(if not then its high time to do so)
A- Not on a regular basis - but yes do exercise once in a week. And I use stairs for 1st floor office and 2nd floor home.

Meanwhile just try taking small frequent portion of meals and avoid spicy/junk foods..
Yes, I will do that.

And you prescribed Tablet ESMOPRAZOLE 40MG for 7-10 days.
I will try taking this medicine and will report it back.

Can I just fix you as my specialist as after taking this medicine I don't want to talk to other doctors as I have explain my case again to them.

Brief Answer:
No need to to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and Welcome,
Thanks for the replies that you have made.

Well from your symptoms now its quite apparent that that your problem is due to Duodenal Ulceration(the next part of the stomach), however you still need to have thorough physical check-up as well as Endoscopy of the Upper GI-tract to prove so.

Its more of a longstanding problem and nothing too serius at the moment so don't worry.

Now my first advice to you is to avoid taking any cold drinks/ fizzy drinks for the time being(be it ENO/LIMCA or whatever) as this will further worsen the situation.

Try to have small quantity frequent meals as I've already mentioned.
No , you need to increase that exercise from once a week to at least Thrice a week, even simple arms & legs stretching, 30min jogging in the park will do. No climbing stairs(to 1st/2nd floor) two/three times a day won't suffice.

Yes please start Tablet ESMOPRAZOLE 40MG ONCE DAILY (preferably 15 min before breakfast) for 7-10days initially , but may need to continue a bit longer depending on how you stay afterwards.

Also avoid junk/spicy food as much as possible.

Try to have your dinner a bit early, eg. your bedtime is 12MN then try to have your dinner by 9:30 , you'll feel better.

Thanks a lot for contacting HCM and let me know how you stay after all these take effect. Hope you get well soon.
