Question: My 16 yr old son came home from soccer yesterday with a 104 fever, chills, aches and pains. It came on very quickly. Fever down to 101 but he now complains about numb fingertips and pins and needles in his finger tips. He got up last night to go to the bathroom and lost his balance and fell over.

Brief Answer:
What was teh outside temperatures yesterday?

Detailed Answer:
HI and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this fever that your son has reported. Am of the thinking that he might have been exercising under extreme conditions yesterday and didn't drink enough fluids which might have heat exhaustion and muscle damage. Check with him how the outside temperatures were and whether he drank enough fluids. I will recommend that he drinks much fluids and monitor his urine output. If it is not good enough, I will encourage him to get evaluated.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
