Question: Hi Doctor,

I have been suffering from 100+ fever from today morning with a lot of body ache.
My stomach is also upset as I'm suffering with loose and smelly tools. Been feeling vomitish since morning but have not vomited till now.
I'm wondering whether this is a normal flu or could be swine flu.
Please suggest.

Brief Answer:
Hard to tell on the basis of symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

Your symptoms are viral and flu-like. But it is hard to tell if it is swine flu.

Swine flu tests are available in government hospitals and some private labs. Recommendations are to do it only in severe cases.

I would suggest that you wait and watch. If your symptoms improve over a period of 2 - 3 days then you do not need testing.

For next year take the vaccine for swine flu in november.
