Suggest Treatment For Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Feb 2015
Question: Last night I ate some fish & now I feel that something is stuck in my throat (perhaps a small bone). It doesn't hurt. It just feels like there is something there. I can still swallow & eat w/o any problems. What should I do? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Wait and watch for a day...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

There could be two possibilities, either the thorn would have traumatized the mucosa and got down along with the food or there can be a thorn either in the tonsillar tissue or lower down in the throat.

I would suggest you to try taking OTC pain relievers for a day. If it's a mere inflammation, the pain will subside, but, if there is a thorn present, the pain will persist. In the latter situation, you need to consult your ENT specialist for the removal of the thorn.

Hope I have answered the query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.
