Question: Hi. My name is XXXXXXX I was injured in a no-combat accident while serving in the Army in Iraq 10 years ago. I have multiple herniated cervical discs that have caused a significant amount of pain over the years. I've been treated with percoset for pain relief and have had 13 Radi- frequency ablations. I think at this point I am more concerned with the extreme fatigue I am dealing with on a near daily basis. Until last summer, despite the pain I was able to exercise 4-5 days a week. last summer it seems as if the rug was pulled from under me. I have had to deal with extreme fatigue 4-5 days a week. This often become quite significant. It has no affected my work life, but it has affected the rest of my life. I am often too tired to spend time with my family or friends. I no longer do the things I used to enjoy and rarely go to the gym, As I said, the pain isn' t what is stopping me. It's the exhaustion. I'm wondering if the medication is the cause of this? I occasionally take up to 8 5/325 Percosets a day. The exhaustion is less than a year old, but I have taken the prescription since 2010.

Brief Answer:
Adrenal gland fatigue

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX unfourtanetly long term use of Percosets can lead to adrenal gland fatigue. this will lead to low blood cortisol levels that will manifest by worsening fatigue and weakness.
I suggest you get a morning blood test to measure blood cortisol level.
