Brief Answer:
Yes both eyes require treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to health care magic

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related yo eye.

Eye infections like conjunctivitis are very contagious and it spreads by close contact. Hence most of the times conjunctivitis of one eye spreads to other eye also and to other people who are near by.

Hence it is required to use prophylactic eye drops for normal eye to prevent infection. But is is better not to use the same eye drop bottle but to use different eye drop bottle . Need to wash the eyes thoroughly after touching the infected eye before touching the normal eye.
Kerchiefs, towels..... used to touch the infected eye should not be used to touch the normal eye.

Hence if the infection of the eye is contagious one like conjunctivitis both eyes require treatment.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards
