Question: I am a 26 year old woman and am experiencing pain in my lower left abdomen. The first time it happened was about a month ago and it was very mild, like a dull throbbing ache. It contined very sporadically for about a week and then largely stopped until today, and it has been pretty constant for several hours. It is a throbbing sort of stabbing pain on a low scale (not something that affects day to day activities) but I am concerned. I have no other symptoms. Thank you!!

Brief Answer:
ovarian pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello. IWelcome to HCM. I have read your query and understand your concerns. It seems to be an ovarian pain. Do you have symptoms near your periods or this is totally unrelated. I will advise you to have an sonogram. It will help to delineate the reason. Regards dr Manisha Jain

Hi Dr. XXXXXXX thank you for replying. It feels very different from menstrual cramps. This is more a sharp, stabbing pain on one side versus the heavy cramps from my period. Also, I stopped my period about a week ago so am not expecting it.

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound advised

Detailed Answer:
Then either it is related to some intestinal inflammation on a specific area (usually in patients with chronic constipation), which resolves after taking simple analgesics taken regularly.
But still get an ultrasound done which will give us maximum information.
Take care
