Question: I haven't had my period since end of January, my doctor told me its because I am breastfeeding. I want to know if it is possible to be pregnant and have the tests come up negative every time. the last two weeks I have been having to pee a lot, when I eat certain foods I start feeling nauseous part way through eating, I've been having upset stomachs, tired a lot, cramps, and headaches. If not is it possible it could all be due to lack of sleep?

Brief Answer:
breastfeeding prevents pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.

Usually while lactating, there might not be any menses till you breastfeed.
Also, there is no ovulation most of the time.
This prevents pregnancy during breastfeeding.

If you are testing negative for pregnancy during breast feeding, the above facts may be the reason.

You are having symptoms like nausea, headache, cramps, frequent urination.

Lack of sleep and stress (even stress of parenting) can commonly contribute to these problems.

You can take ibuprofen and ondansetron(prescription drug) tablets for symptomatic relief.

In the backdrop of negative pregnancy tests, I do not think these symptoms point towards pregnancy.

Hope this helps.
Feel free to ask further.
Take care.

Thanks.
