Suggest Treatment For Excessive Cough Every Morning
Question: Hello Dr XXXXXXX heijebu.My question to Dr XXXXXXX HEIJEBU to answer me.
Since one week I am having excess cough along with lot of sputum in the morning.This is especially worse in the morning .In the evening I find myself weak and tired.i had a chest x ray.i am uploading it on the query.can you suggest me any treatment.i am facing trouble to concentrate on my office work.i occasionally take alcohol and smoke.Is my problem related to alcohol intake/

Hi Sir.
I understand your query and concern.
I have gone through your uploaded image as well.
As per your clinical history, you probably seem to have Chronic Bronchitis-which is more localised to right lung middle and lower lobes.
This is inflammation of large sized air tubes of the lung parenchyma.
This problem is more related to smoking inhalation, rather than alcohol intake.
This can present with copious sputum production and cough.
Antibiotics are the mainstay of treatment.
Antibiotics like Gudacef CV twice a day for 7 days along with Syrup Zedex will help.
Please note these drugs have to be taken under strict medical prescription.
Consultation with a pulmonologist will be helpful, in case symptoms does not resolve within 7 days.
