Thank you for reverting back,

Looks like ED - The problem started couple of months ago. But I had a proper sex atleast 5-6 times in last 30 days which I was able hold for 5-10 minutes good climax/ejaculation.

But many times I lose the erection during the fore-play, then I am getting little tensed and no more getting hard. But some time I had smoother sex with out an problem. I had similar kind of issues 4 years ago which lasted for 2-3 months then every thing back to normal ( I took Musli Powder supplements then, but not sure if that medicine helped me).

Apart from Cholesterol and high uric acid, no other known physical illness , I had undergone a complete master health checkup(ECG/Echo/Urine/Sugar/BP/Kidney/Liver/Urine Tests) and everything looks normal.

My alcohol consumption was high for couple of months (Jan-April), and from last month completely stopped, and non smoker for last 10 years. Other point is I was used to masturbate regularly ( if possible 2 times a day) as my wife is carrying since last year. Now she is delivered and back to my house , but now I finding difficulty in intercourse.

Brief Answer:
No serious problem is there, one multivitamin may help-tetrafol plus

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for information.

According to criteria diagnosis of erectile dysfunction is made when erection problem is there for most of the time during at least 6 months period. Your problem did not last too much. Also last year due to circumstances of wife you did not have enough frequency of intercourse.
Your past habit of alcohol and smoking are likely responsible for intermittent disturbance in sex life with some other factors like fatigue, work stress, mood changes etc.

Nothing to worry about masturbation habit.
Masturbation is natural and normal thing. It is done by 95% of the males in the world, mostly before marriage as well as when wife is away, in menses or pregnant after marriage. It is not at all harmful. Frequency of masturbation done by an individual varies from once a day to once a week. It depends upon individual libido, wish and timing. It neither causes any weakness nor any problem in sexual activity.

I would like to mention treatment aspect of erectile dysfunction.

You can use medicine cum vitamin supplement containing pyridoxal-5-phosphate, mecobalamin and l-methylfolate (trade name tetrafol plus)is very helpful in my patients. It has shown improvement in 50-60% patients of mine with ED.You should take it after meal twice a day. If you feel some improvement in 15 days you should continue for at least 1 month. You may get this medicine over the counter as it is vitamin product.

There are some natural lifestyle measures which help to improve blood flow to penis and overall sexual performance.

- The most important factor is healthy heart. Blood is pumped in to body by heart. So regular exercise and avoidance of fatty fast food are important measures to prevent heart disease. Regular walking, swimming or running overall improves blood flow to whole body circulation including penis and keep the mind fresh.

- Good healthy food is also an important aspect. Bananas, Garlic, dry fruits(they contains vitamins), eggs, cow milk, cow butter are good food which may help in erectile dysfunction. You have already high cholesterol so you need to take care about avoiding fat/junk food.

- Avoid smoking and alcohol. Low amount of alcohol can help in increasing blood flow but more amount can cause opposite effects. So better to avoid the same.

As you are form XXXXXXX I would like to also mention ayurvedic medicine option. Tentax forte is the medicine which is used for ED.No side effects has been reported. I use it infrequently and no specific studies are there of its efficacy. Two tablets daily at night with a cup of milk should be taken.

5- PDE inhibitor group of medicines like sildenafil or tadalafil(cialis) are used. One of them should be used 2 hours prior to sex. They causes headache, stuffy nose nausea and gastric discomfort like common side effects. Proper physical check up of cardiac system should be done by a doctor before starting the same. These are prescription medicines and you need to consult doctor/psychiatrist/sexologist for the prescription. However I do not think you are in need of such medicine right now.

As your wife has delivered recently give her time to prepare of intercourse. No need to be tensed if you are facing problem. For constant erection continuous exciting feelings in mind should be there while sex.Your tension may lead to diversion of mind from exciting erotic feelings and loosening of erection. With practice you again will go back to normal sex life.Even if problem persists treatment is there.

Hope this answers your query.

I would also wanted to mention , wearing condom makes me completely soft :( , because of this I need to look for alternative contraceptive mechanism. Yesterday I had successful intercourse, but I erection was not full and pennis did not grown to full size.

In your email you mentioned two medicines, tetrafol plus and Tentax forte. Which one would you be reccommend for me. I see one product from Himalaya Tentex forte, any suggestion on this. If you can more specific on product and ( with brand name) with dosage/usage, it would more helpful more me

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
I recommend tetrafol plus

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for follow up.

Size of penis does not matter much. More important are enjoyment during foreplay and orgasm of both partners. If these are there you do not have any sex related problem.

If I were your treating doctor I of course would recommend to go for terafol plus.It is brand name of sun pharma and vitamin product without any side effects. You should take it after meal twice a day. Continue the same for at least 1 month for optimum effects.

I use tentax forte very less in my patients as I almost get results with allopathy treatment and counseling. When patient is concerned about side effects I suggest to use it two tablets at night with milk for 1 month and then as and when required. In your case no significant erectile dysfunction so I would not recommend it.

All the best. You can ask further if you have any queries there.

Once again thank you so much.

Couple of more queries before closing the thread,

1. What is the dosage of tetrafol plus ( 5mg/10mg)
2. If medication not working even after a month whom should I consult (Urologist/Sexologist)
3. What kind of test generally they would asked me to do when I consult a dr?

thanks,
doctor
Answered by Dr. Chintan Solanki (48 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
consult psychiatrist/sexologist if needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for follow up.

Ans 1: Tetrafol plus comes in single strength with all 3 component I described above, no specific dose to be mentioned.

Ans 2: Psychiatrist by degree is sexologist. Better to consult psychiatrist. <any M.B.B.S. doctors also practice as sexologist. But before going to them just verify the degree. Do not go to the person who called himself as sexologist without any proper qualification.

Ans 3: If needed serum testosterone level and thyroid level are advised with routine blood check up in form of CBC(complete blood count) and RBS(random blood sugar).

Hope this answer will help.
If still any query there, I will be happy to answer. If not, you can close the discussion and if feasible give your feedback and rating so I can improve my service. In future you can contact me directly on this site if you wish with this link:
