Brief Answer:
it is a chronic skin condition

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Eczema is a chronic condition of the skin. The medical term for this condition is atopic dermatitis.
This is a chronic inflammation of the skin ,caused by an allergic reaction to different allergens.
It is not totally known what causes eczema but it can be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. This means that some people are predisposed to have this type of skin reaction when come in contact with different irritants.
Some factors that trigger eczema include:
-Hot and cold temperatures (hot and dry weather, high humidity ,profuse sweating )
-Allergens (dust mites, pollens ,mold,pets)
-Detergents, soaps,irritant substances.

There is no definitive cure for eczema but there are medications to treat the symptoms when they flare up.Good daily skin care is essential to controlling the disease
To prevent eczema you should try to keep your skin moisturizer and try to avoid substance that can irritate your skin.
-Take warm baths and apply moisturizer short after the bath
-Wear cotton loose clothes and underwear
-Use shampoos and soaps that don't dry your skin (mild soaps )

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question.I will be happy to help.
