Posted on Tue, 27 Jan 2015
Question: I guess I have a flu, but some symptons are unusual.... I feel ear ache, back pain and chest pain. no cough. really hard to swallow and spiting all the time. only now my fever went down, this night was between 38.2 and 39 C. Even though the fever went away I feel extremely cold. cold drinks make it bad, warm to hot drinks make it worse - throat. I'm worried about the chest pain and it also hurts to breath. I even turned off the AC to help... Should I go to the ER?

Brief Answer:
Could be a lung condition

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your query.I think I would be able to help you.

I think you have given us only the unusual symptoms. I think I would suggest that you enter all the symptoms.

However, considering flu, I think it would be good to tell you that the condition of weakness is common in flu and this commonly presents as pain and myalgia explaining your backache.

Chest pain that increase on breathing is usual symptoms of a pleural problem. That's an infection of the covering of the lung. I think it would be good to get a chest X ray tested. It may show some infection that may need antibiotics.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information helps you. Please feel free to contact us for more information. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
