Question: I have an issue with swallowing. When I am eating sometimes food gets stuck in my throat and the only way I can get it out is to bring it up. It's very embarrassing. I do have a hietal hernia and I had an endoscopy two years ago. I realize stress can make it worse, but it's starting to happen more frequently.

Brief Answer:
Cricopharyngeal dysfunction...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

The symptoms described by you could be related to cricopharyngeal dysfunction. This condition can be identified by esophageal manometry.

I would suggest you to consult a good gastroenterologist for a complete evaluation and management. You may also require barium meal examination to confirm the same.

Hope I have answered your query; I'll be available for the follow up queries.
