Brief Answer:
Take mucolytic with bronchodilator

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

You seem to be having allergic pharyngitis and bronchitis.

Please take a mucolytic and bronchodilator and not cough suppressant mixtures. Also if there is some element of reflux, do take proton pump inhibitors.

Avoid exposure to dust and extreme temperature.

Feel free to ask another query.

Thanks for the query.

Allergic bronchitis is a common cause for cough. Allergy of the upper and lower respiratory tract many a times coexists and thus it is not that uncommon to have sore throat along with cough.

It is a common problem and usually season related and the person is otherwise not unhealthy/sick.

So, nothing to worry, relax. In case the problem persists, see an ENT.

Brief Answer:
I do not agree with ur GP, relax, wait for results

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.

I don't want to comment on what your GP has considered but this is not a classical picture of pertusis.

Please relax, and wait for the results and I am sure that this will not come out as pertusis.

You can read about pertusis which you must have had and you will know this does not matches with your history.

Still if you are worried, see an infectious diseases specialist.

Clarithromycin is a good antibiotic for chest infections and if your doctor thinks after clinically examining you that you need an antibiotic for chest infection, you can take this. No harm but this drug is not being prescribed to you as a treatment for pertussis. This is my opinion.

Please use a mucolytic and a bronchodilator along with steam inhalation as I have already suggested.

Your doctor must have ordered a total and differential leucocyte count and if that is normal and there is no fever, you may need to take a short course of steroids if the cough does not respond to above treatment.

Thanks for the query.

In this scenario, just relax and let the lab reports come.

Just take steam inhalation and avoid dust and any specific allergen if you think so.

A short course of steroids in allergic cough is commonly used if there are no contraindications or alternately an inhaler can be very safely used.

Brief Answer:
Just relax

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.

Dear just relax and let the body have some time to get in normal rhythm.

Not having nodes is a good thing but many a times insignificant nodes are there and are not to be worried about.

Hopefully your lab reports will be fine.
