Dear
Thanks for contacting with your health concern and after reviewing your case history, I'm of the following opinion:

1. dry cough [non productive] is most often result of cold and/or flu virus [as mentioned in history], thus line of treatment and management is as follow:

DIET

i. Avoid: deep fried food ( samosa, pakoda, chips, idli), sour fruits ( mosambi, oranges, green grapes, lemon, shrikhand), protect neck area while riding bike, travelling in bus/car with open window panes, cold water, rice and milk at night.

ii. Take: lukewarm water with honey for gargles,moong/arhar dal, mulethi, laung, old brown rice, chapatti with no oil, papaya, black grapes.

Treatment

1. I usually advice 2 balls Gelsemium 30 which one has to take every three hours.
2. If cough occurs even during sleep one can safely go with Bryonia 30c: 1 drop on the tongue and can repeat thrice [within 30 minutes gap] if the problems persists and works best if taken just before bed time.

1. when a person/user post a query under Alternative medicine section the question is passed to all the eminent physicians of AYUSH [Ayurveda,Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy], and since most of the Doctors are learned in most of the common topics [common cold for example] thus the general management principle is more or less similar in every stream of medicine.

2. as far as medicine is concerned only those medicine(s) are prescribed which are given in general practice, but if the User wants a specific medicine for specific disease, then it is understood that the answer has to be given by the doctor of that specialty.

1. One thing which you can do is to 'TAG' the query specifically in the name of concerned Doctor, in that way it will be visible to all as to whom it is directed and will be answered by that particular physician only.

1. Whenever you post a query under Alternative Medicine Section..just write that "please forward this query to Dr. ********* only"

2. You can directly click on homeopath section and click the doctor of your choice or you can ask for direct link of that doctor either from himself or from the HCM technical team, by clicking on that link you will be directed directly to that doctor only.
