Brief Answer: Take both antirabies vaccine and antirabies serum Detailed Answer: Hello, Welcome to Healthcare Magic. As you were bit by dog which was not immunized against rabies, if it carries rabies virus it can transmit rabies. As there was a bleeding following the bite, according to WHO categories it is classified as Cat III exposure. So you require both antirabies vaccine and antirabies serum. Rabies is 100% fatal but it is 100% preventable by proper treatment. I would suggest you to take Antirabies vaccine like inj rabipur on days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28. As it is already 1 week following the bite, still you have to take these injections to your shoulder. Antirabies serum or rabies immunoglobulin (RIGs) in around the biting wound. Take oral antibiotics like tab Augmentin to prevent bacterial infection. Donot neglect this, approach your doctor for these medications.Still if you have any further query I will be happy to answer them. Thank you.
