Brief Answer:
Probably due to episodic decrease of blood flow.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
I appreciate your concern for your husband.
The reason for his episodes of dizziness and visual problem is that during these episodes, there is a temporary reduction to the blood flow to certain parts of the brain. If he has cervical spodylosis, the blood flow to the base of the brain can be reduced at times and this can be the cause of the symptoms.
Take care,
Dr Noble Zachariah

Thank you for your diagnosis. It makes more since than anything anyone else has told us. About 10 years ago he was told he had a hemangioma in his neck. Not visible but they didn't indicate it was a problem. Could that be causing his reduced bloodflow and are there ways to get rid of it or improve it? Thank you in advanced for your help. XXXX

Brief Answer:
Requires a blood flow study

Detailed Answer:
Usually haemangioma is not a problem.
How was it diagnosed and was there any follow up?
I think he should have a doppler study of the blood vessels of the neck supplying the brain.
Once the site of the problem is diagnosed, corrective measures can be decided.
