Questions so that I can help:

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

When did you last have a bowel movement?

Where do you feel the pressure?

You wrote that you are using probiotics and fiber for this problem. What did you take (in terms of fiber or laxatives), how much, and when?

I'll respond with thoughts after I hear back - thanks.

I have regular bowel movements. Pressure at rectum. I use benefiber twice a day and a mild laxative approx every 3 days, which seems to illeviate symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Thoughts on this:

Detailed Answer:
It'a possible that you need to move your bowels more often if you feel relief of your symptoms after having a BM. The other thing is, if the pressure is on the rectum, that there might be an enlarged internal hemorrhoid. You mentioned you have hemorrhoids and diverticulosis. It's possible that a hemorrhoid inside has enlarged or become inflamed. I recommend that you go in to see your doctor who can do a digital rectal exam and if necessary, have a look with a clear plastic anuscope (it's like a vaginal speculum only considerably smaller). This can help sort out what is going on and what the next step needs to be.

I am 48 year old woman who has been experiencing upper right abdominal pain (just below rib cage), constant belching , nauseu, extreme bloating , exhaustion. I have wake up in pain at night and use to experience what seemed like a panic attack with chest pains, so my GI put me on Librax and moved me from omeprazole to Aciphex . I have had an endoscopy (showed GERD) and thick stomach folds, colonoscopy-no issues, HIDA scan within normal range (don t know what my EF score is) and recently an Upper GI with small bowel and radiologist said it looked normal at a quick glance but had to put it together. My stomach is constantly distended that I can t shut may pants and with movement I sometimes experience pain. My GI said he will be at a loss if the GI comes back negative. Help!

had diahrreah since late September (2 months now) mucousy, watery and painful cramps . Noticed black bean looking things in the stool , almost every time. They appear just like a black bean, not broken in most cases. I have not eaten any beans at all and wonder what this could indicate for my problem ... if anything. I am scheduled for a colonoscopy this week. Email address is YYYY@YYYY . Thanks.

I was told I have IBS . I am waiting to have a colonoscopy done. For about a year now, I have been experiencing recal leakage, small amounts of feces to leak and sit just inside my butt cheeks causing sever burning. When I wipe there are streaks of blood on the paper/moist wipe. I have also had an attack of diverticulitis . What can I do to stop the leakage and burning. I also experience very soft bowel movements. Are the two (leakage and diverticulitis) related?

Hi, I am 33 years old and have a history of bowel problems over the years, ranging from constipation, diarrhea , burning and itching at anus , intermittent flattened stool and mucus in stool. I was diagnosed with IBS about 4 years ago. However, over the past year and a half I ve been having the same symptoms again. I didn t go to the bathroom for the last 2 days. I felt bloated and uncomfortable, and since yesterday i was feeling this sensation of inflammation and infection in my bowels along with a slightly burning anus (I often get this symptom), and when I eventually went today, my stools were kinda pale/brown/greenish mixed and sort of flattened with mucus. Then I went again about 3 hours after and they were pale and looked kinda flattened as well, however I don t know if the pale stool is due to the 6 bananas I ate the day before to try to ease the constipated feeling. My stool however is never that brownish color which would indicate healthy stool, it always ranges from yellowish to pale. I ve been to 2 GI doctors before and no one seems to take me seriously, one has given me an endoscopy , where I was diagnosed with h-pylori and given triple treatment ,and the other has given me Dogmatil 50mg and told me to stop worrying. None thinks that I should have a colonoscopy . I am at my wits end, I am now suffering from anxiety and sleepless nights and I am constantly worried that it can be something worse. Can you lend me any advice?
