Brief Answer:
You need Immediate treatment and then evaluation form Gastroenterologist

Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you to my virtual clinic HCM!
I have carefully worked through your case, and can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

What diverticulitis means?
It is actually the infection of the small outpouchings of the colonic mucosa (from large intestinal inner surface wall--known as diverticula). There are 4 known stages of the disease according to the severity. Your Gastro-Physician will help you in that regard.

Tests needed (which is not an emergency need--your Gastroenterologist may also go for these tests):-
CBC with ESR and Differentials.
Serum electrolytes.
Liver function tests
Serum Lipase.
The Gold Standard test I run on my patients is CT-abdomen with colonic contrast.

Clinical Management:-
**Take proper rest for fast recovery.
**Take no heavy and stuffy meals. No spices, caffeinated drinks, energy drinks, beverages, fried & junk foods etc.
**Please take Clear liquid diet in the start at least two to three days from now (alongwith the treatment started, advised as under).
**Take Citrucel with plenty of water. This is a dietary fiber supplement & will help assist you for proper bulk formation of the stools. You will need less restroom visits.
**Take Pedialyte oral rehydration solution to replenish the fluid and electrolytes lost due to the disease.
**Stop taking Vancomycin (after discussing with the prescribing physician's front desk). Vancomycin is not beneficial in your case.
**If I was your treating physician I would have prescribed you with a multi-drug regimen of Ciprofloxacin+Metronidazole (if not allergic to) and of course a follow up after a week. Plus Imodium for diarrhoea control.
This is the urgent treatment needed. Once you get relieved from this acute diverticulitis (infection), visit your Gastroenterologist for a thorough evaluation and he will run a battery of tests on you to rule out any colonic malignancy (that is very common differential diagnosis in such cases and at this age). Tests may comprise of but not limited to Virtual CT colonoscopy, Colonoscopy, Barium enema and Biopsy of any suspicious lesion in the colon or rectum.

Have a wonderful time ahead. Hope I answered all of your questions. Let me know if you have any further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you in no time. If satisfied here, please give a generous five star rating and don't forget to close the discussion.
For any disease you have, a timely follow-up after sometime regarding the treatment efficacy and to see any need to change the treatment options is very necessary. Keep a follow up some days after this visit session ends.

Regards!
