Brief Answer:
Xray required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

If I am your treating doctor I would like to advise you xray of leg in AP and Lateral view, so get it done and send me the report.

I want to see union status of previous fracture.

Also you shouldn't allow full weightbearing its partial or touch down depending upon union status which is by seeing your xray.

So till xray report you shouldn't bear weight on that leg.

If pain is severe then have tab.aceclofenac100mg twice a day by prescription of your treating doctor.

You should also visit orthopedic surgeon and discuss all this.

Elevate limb while sitting or sleeping.

I hope it helps.

Thanks,

Hello, thank you,
I have had an xray on Friday when the cast was removed and the doctor said the hard callus has formed enough to allow weight bearing, which i have been doing, the swelling and stiffness and going down, but still have pain in the leg, is this normal (3 days after cast removal?)Also, the fracture was not a cut through, it was like a small 'chip' off the bone and a small hairline slightly down the bone (this is a running injury).

Brief Answer:
Partial weightbearing for 7 days.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the response.

As you have explaining that fracture was hairline, so no need to worry.

Pain may occur in some patients, still I advise you to bearconly partial weight on leg for 7 days, after that full weightbearing can be resumed.

Usually pain occurs after removal of cast, main thing is weightbearing.

I hope you got the point.

Enjoy the life.

Thanks,
