Suggest Treatment For Diffuse Cerebral Atrophy

Question: Hi, My father recently got MRI scan and the report says diffuse in cerebral atrophy and there are no other abnormalities. He is aged 48, how should we go about this?

I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Diffuse cerebral atrophy in MRI Brain is almost a universal finding in MRI of elderly people.Cerebral atrophy starts developing as the age advances.Many of the individuals in their late 40's may have diffuse cerebral atrophy.It is physiological and not pathological.

So,this MRI is not abnormal as far as diffuse cerebral atrophy is concerned.Is he having any symptoms?Why did he underwent a brain MRI?Please follow up for a better correlation.

Hi sir,
Thank you so much for your reply, that's relieving.
My actually got a jerk in brain which also had an impact on his heart (as per his observation) that is the reason our doctor advised to get the scanning done.

I have seen that attached MRI report and I confirm that it is normal except that there is ethmoid and maxillary sinusitis.That has nothing to do with brain.
