Brief Answer:
if not stressed or depressed, tests necessary

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Blocked eustachian tube canal can be improved with chewing techniques. Also valsalva manouver, involving closing mouth and nostrils and trying to blow, could be helpful. Do it gently. Also antihistamine or decongestant if cold is there, will be helpful.
2. Short term memory loss requires evaluation. Alcohol or medication commonly cause it. Its one of the early signs of dementia. If he is not depressed or stressed, which can cause memory loss in short term, he will require a XXXXXXX mental examination.
3. He might be stressed due to eustachian tube block. Watch for a week. If still not better, meet your doctor to get the test done.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
