Suggest Treatment For Difficulty In Breast Feeding Baby

default
Posted on Wed, 4 Feb 2015
Question: Me and My wife is blessed with baby boy on 24th Aug 2014. wife has been facing challenges with respect to breast feeding baby since beginning. we had tried consulting lactation consultant however it didn't help as baby didn't still breast feed. since 1st month she has been using breast pump to provide mothers milk to baby by bottle feeding. the milk quantity has also been less hence baby is also given milk supplements.my wife has been taking medication for months to get effective milk (satavari, some perinom).

Issue is, as my wife is not able to breast feed baby her wait is not decreasing as she has put on her wait since pregnancy. she is finding it very difficult to manage with the wait and looking for how she can reduce it.
Her tummy is also still yet to get to normal (she has gone through C Section)
She has tried using abdominal belt as recommended by doctor but still didn't much help.

Need advise on how she can reduce her weight and tummy.

Brief Answer:
Start top up food

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I have read your query.

Lactation: your wife is not able to giving direct and enough breast feed.
I suggest you start top up feed like semi solid food for your baby since he is going to be completed 6 months.
Nothing to worry about it, you can start top up food after 6 months along with breast milk.

About your wife’s weight:
Weight increase is normal during pregnancy.
And also it is difficult to reduce weight
It will take 1 year some times 2 year’s time to take decrease weight.
So please have patience.
I suggest her to do 30 minutes walk daily.
Do not lie down immediately after food and should walk for 5-10 minutes.
Do not eat heavy meals at a time. Tell her to take small meals 5-6 times in day.
Eat fresh fruits and fiber rich food.
She can do mild abdominal exercises. Abdominal belt will help you.

If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Gradually she will lose

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for your follow up query.

Nothing to worry
She will lose weight gradually. She is not losing weight due to lack of physical exercises because she must be busy with her baby and most common hormonal changes in body.
And because of diet also she is not losing weight since she is giving breastfeed then definitely she should eat food.

Moreover she is giving her breast milk through breast pump.

Slowly induce top up food to your son.

Tell her to maintain her diet along with physical exercises like walk
It is bit difficulty to lose weight after delivery and also takes time.

If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
