Suggest Treatment For Difficulty Concentrating While On Contrave

Question: I was prescribed CONTRAVE by my doctor for weight reduction. I do not like how the drug affects me. I find that I am nervous and jittery, and sometimes have difficulty concentrating on things that are normally easy for me. I took the drug for a week and started the second week with 2 pills, but I feel worse than ever. It is actually hard for me to type this message when normally I don't have that many problems with typing.
I want to stop the medication. Is it safe for me to do that?

Brief Answer:
It can be stopped

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
Contrave contains bupropion and naltrexone.
Since you have the side effects, reduce the dose to one tablet and if you are still not able to tolerate it, you can stop it after discussing with your doctor. lf you do not have asthma , diabetes or peripheral vascular disease, small dose of propranolol like 10mg twice a day will help reduce the jitters.
