Question: Hi Doctor.
Need an opinion on attached papers for Disc Degenerative Disease (Cervical Lumbar and Dorsal) and Disc Herniation (GR-1) C5-6 .By profession the patient is pilot and he has been put permanently down from flying duties.Need to know the detailed opinion on the injuries and ailment sustained by the patient as he met with an helicopter accident in nagaland

I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.
I have reviewed his MRI reports, which mentions diffuse disc herniations( C5-C6, D3-D4,D4-D5,D5-D6 and L3-L4,L4-L5 and L5-S1) which are causing thecal compressions as well as compression of exiting nerve foramina.
So, in these florid degenerative changes,Spinal extension exercises, posture training and lifestyle changes are extremely important and core component of treatment plan.
Being a Pilot, may compromise this management plan and cause further worsening in herniation,degree of disc bulges and hence symptoms. This may cause grave symptoms in future like weakness in extremities and bladder/bowel abnormalities.So, its better to avoid the same.
