Question: It appears that I have some "inflammatory" condition. I thought that it may be some form rheumatoid arthritis.
Since I have a mild arthritis on my scalp. The pain is in my left shoulder and runs up on my neck. I also feel some "stiffness" in two of my fingers. I had a mild soreness in my left shoulder due to excessive tennis playing. My mother had arthritis and rheumatism. What topical medication can I use to relief the solder and neck pain which is quite bothersome?

Brief Answer:
It seems to be age related degenerative arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that , rheumatoid arthritis occuring at this age is very unlikely , it seems to be age related degenerative changes that are troubling you . I would recommend daily exercise along with topical diclofenac gel or topical paracetamol gel for pain relief .

Take care.
