Brief Answer:
Dehydration

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to her that you have Dystonia and that you notice your urine being brown and very strong smelling. The change in your urine is due to your diuretic. With daily use of diuretics your kidneys are working hard and sometimes too hard causing your to become dehydrated and overly concentrated urine. To prevent your urine from becoming dark I recommend you be sure to drink plenty of fluids. This will especially important through the summer when temperatures get hot and you sweat more.

In summary
1. Brown highly smelly urine due to overly concentrated urine
2. Drink more fluids

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROOMPT RESPONSE. YES, I THOUOGHT MYSELF THAT THE DARK URINE WAS DUE TO THE DIURETIC. BUT MY CNA WAS CIONCERNED THAT THERE MIGHT BE BLOOD IN MY URINE AND MIGHT BE SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS.

I WIILL TRY TO DRINK MORE WATER AND CUT DOWN ON THE LASIX TO MAYBE A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK. MY FEET ARE VERY SWOLEN AND PURPLE. I. ALSO HAVE NEUROPATHY IN MY FEET.
