Periorbital Hyperpigmentation

Detailed Answer:
1. One has to identify the cause of these blemishes prior to initiating any alternate line of treatment so consultation with a Dermatologist is good.

i. Hereditary factor.
ii. Iron deficiency anemia [where lack of iron causes dark circles]
iii. Allergies [where constant itching and rubbing can cause area under the eye to appear darker]
PS. since you are taking foracorte medication]
iv. Lifestyle: Stress appears to play a major part as fatigue and lack of sleep can cause skin to become darker.
v. Excess salt consumption
vi. Although it increases with age but around your age [33] seems distant cause.

A. Avoid oily, spicy, fried, and left over food, excess salt items, too much exposure to heat, dry and windy climate, stress, newly harvested cereals, black gram, radish, sour and heavy substances, milk, curd, sugarcane products, and jaggery, sleeping during day right after meals.

B. Take old barley, wheat, brown rice, green vegetables, boiled and filtered water to drink, green gram, pigeon pea, masura, patola, kakamachi, garlic, cucumber, bitter dietary substances, old ghee, sesame oil, nimba oil, cow’s urine, good sleep, along with regular morning walk of 45 minutes.

C. Don’t allow to dehydrate yourself, thus avoid alcohol and caffeine containing beverages.

D. According to Ayurveda, your Age [33] is in “pitta” time which is related with Digestive system thus following considerations [natural] are recommended
i. Triphala helps clean up the digestive system [take 5gm with lukewarm water at bed time [night]
ii.Avocado is good source of Vitamin E and Vitamin C: thus natural moisturizer and anti inflammatory fruit.
iii.Clean the area with apple cider vinegar, leave it for one hour and then wash with lukewarm water
iv.Tomatoes having astringent and antioxidant properties. [use them as facial masks]
v.Lemons [rub lemon juice over them each night] ,
Apples (anti oxidant),
Pears (regulate pH balance),
Banana (probiotic)
vi.Spinach: contains Vitamin A [most important vitamin for the skin] and also helps to stop the production of sebum [ who suffer from oily skin]
vii.Cucumber: since both Vitamin A and C are found in cucumbers [reason of use in skin care products].
viii.Raw carrots: not only are an excellent source of vitamins, but also of magnesium and minerals. [both cucumber and carrot can be eaten and used as face mask]
ix.Use face mask with multani mitti, neem leaves powder, haridra with lemon and honey.
xi.Natural medicine [prescription drugs] available are: Maha Thiktakam kashayam, Patoladi kashayam, Maha Thiktaka Gritam, Guggulu Thiktaka kashayam / Gritam, Saptasaram kashayam, Khadira Arishtam, Sarivadi Asavam / Arishtam, Avipattikar Churna, Haridra Khanda, Chandanadi Lepa, Multani Mitti.
