Suggest Treatment For Dark Circles Under The Eyes

Question: Hi there, when I was in my late teens (I'm now 27) I went on Roaccutane for a few months and not even really a heavy dosage amounts either. Since then I've had darker than normal circles underneath my eyes. To attempt to make things better I used my mum's hydrocortisone cream under my eyes quite a few times before I found out it thins the skin.. and I stopped. It hasn't ever REALLY been an issue until recently when unfortunately I went through a stage of heavy drinking every night before bed, just to get sleep - due to issues in my life. I noticed the dark circles get much worse as I've been doing this for over a month recently. To counter this, I bought an anti-aging eye cream that specifically addressed dark circles, the cream is coloured and not plain white. That helped (and I know this will sound silly) but only when I used it.. the cream unfortunately was kept in my car on some very hot days after which I used it where I'm not sure if it was affected or not... but now I've come to a point where I've quit smoking (I'm on my fourth day).. I'm sober, I'm no longer binge drinking and I want to be healthy again. However, and I'm not sure if this requires just time, but the dark circles even with constant water drinking and after a shower, look like I've been taking drugs... in certain light, the skin is almost reflective and makes it look like pre-work for Halloween! I've started to use Bio-oil underneath my eyes at night but I would like to know is there anything I should be doing to help return the skin to normal colour? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Start treatment ,will slowly improve

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
I have seen the attached pictures .
You surely have prominent peri orbital pigmentation or dark circles .
First of all ,owing to your dietary habits ,it is important that you get a blood hemoglobin assessment done since anemia and dietary insufficiency are both important reasons for dark circles .
Stress is surely another contributing factor which you should try to avoid .
Take a good night sleep .
It is good that you are planning to quit drinking .
Start application of a lightening agent like kojic acid over the areas around the eye twice daily . Massage the cream gently into the skin and then leave it .
Use a medicated sunscreen with spf more than 26 regularly before going out in the sun .Apply it atleast thirty minutes before going out and re apply every three hourly .
Eat lots of fresh fruit and salads .
Include citrus fruits like oranges in your daily diet .
In case the hemoglobin levels are less ,you might need iron supplements along.
Remember that dark circles take some time to completely go,so follow the above regimen regularly .

Hope it helps
