Suggest Treatment For Dandruff, Hair Loss And Acne

Question: Hi Doctor,
I am 29 year old guy and living in XXXXXXX . I am having a problem of itchy scalp and Dandruff for years now . Doctors recommended me Anti dandruff shampoo contains Ketoconazole and Anti fungal tablets . But I really never felt that it ever worked . Its not like dandruff is coming out of my head , but when i scratch my scalp i can see its there . Now from past 1 year I am am observing hair fall . I thought it will stop after some time , but its increasing day by day . Now I can see my scalp easily through my hairs and I think i will go bald in coming 1 or 2 years . However my hairs was always healthy , but now getting very thin and falling .No body in my family history was bald .
2nd Problem is with my back acne. From past 4-5 Years I am suffering from back acne and its all over my back and sometimes gets very painful too . Consulted a doctor for this too and had Antibiotic and Anti acne soaps , but no use Acne are as it is.
Please help me to understand what could be the reason behind both the problems are these correlated some how and also suggest what should I use to treat these problems and in daily life what kind of shampoo I should use and how often .

Hello. thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). i have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
I suggest you to use Protar shampoo every alternate days. In addition, you may apply Elocon lotion, overnight over scalp skin.

For hair fall i suggest Tab. Androanagen, once daily.

For acnr you may use Brevoxyl creamy wash for bath. In addition you may apply Clindac - A lotion, twice daily. If your acne is inflammatory and painful you may also take Cap. Microdox LBX 100mg, twice daily for 2 weeks.

Hi ,

Thanks , for replying to my queries so fast . Can you please suggest particular brand name for all the suggested medicines . How long I have to use shampoo ,Elocon lotion and Androanagen and all other drugs for Acne .

Some one suggested me follihair so should I use Androanagen or follihair .

Detailed Answer:
hi.

Protar shampoo (coal tar+ salicylic acid). You can continue this shampoo for long.

Elocon Lotion (mometasone furoate 0.1% lotion) by MSD pharma. use once daily at night for 2 weeks.

Androanagen (Curatio pharma) is a better alternative to follihair for hair fall. I suggest at least 6-12 months of treatment for hair fall.

Cap. microdox - LBX contains doxycycline which is an oral antiacne antibiotic. i suggest 2 weeks of treatment intially along with clindac- A 1% lotion (Alkem) twice daily and brevoxyl cream wash 4% (Sun pharma)
