Brief Answer:
How Healthcare magic works

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for inquiring about Healthcare Magic. I am one of the network physicians and an Adult neurologist as well as Headache Specialist.

All information that you share in this PORTION OF THE FORUM is private and restricted to patient and their consulting physician. There is another portion of this forum where questions are asked on a public bulletin board. There your information (questions and answers) are available to the public to read. But on the paid portion (such as where you are) your questions and their answers are not seen by anyone except yourself and the responding physicians.

You may also DIRECTLY CONSULT any physician on this network but simply going to their website location and writing a question TO THEM. For example, in the future if you wished to open a question up for ME to specifically answer you would visit: bit.ly/drdariushsaghafi, write your question, pay for the series, and I would receive a notification that you had asked a question specifically of myself. I am then, given 24 hrs. to respond to the question.

Each paid consultation by you gives the opportunity to ask 3 questions IN TOTAL. Once those 3 questions have been asked you will be asked to rate the physician on their responses, be asked to CLOSE THE QUERY, and that will conclude your transaction. You may also conclude the transaction prior to having asked your 3 questions if the doctor is able to satisfactorily address your concerns after 1 or 2 questions but that's up to you. The payment schedule allows for you to ask 3 altogether.

So in this case, you would have 2 more questions that can be asked before you will need to close the query and rate the physician. If you then, have additional questions beyond the intiial 3 you will need to open ANOTHER sequence of questions which will cost another amount of money. I'm sorry but I do not know the charges of this network....I only answer the questions....someone else gets to deposit the bills! LOL!

Also, patients are encouraged to upload information pertinent to their case such as lab results, diagnostic reports, medical notes from other doctors, etc.
This often helps us get a more complete understanding of your problems but is not critical or even necessary in order to request consultation.

And that's how this system operates.

I am hopeful that I've addressed your questions and that you are satisfied with my answers well enough to want to continue asking your 2nd question of myself although you are at your XXXXXXX to CLOSE THIS QUERY OUT, open up a new inquiry and have another physician answer your questions.

All the best.

This query required 19 min. physician directed time to read, research, and compile response and envoy to the patient.

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX Saghafi,

I want to apologize for the confusion, the question you answered above I assumed would be answered by customer service. I wrote my question for you in the wrong place and created all this confusion. Thank you for your patients and answering it. The question I had for a MD. follows below:

I am very ashamed to admit that for years I have been "snorting" different narcotics, Ritalin, and other illicit drugs. I am now very concerned that damage has been done to my sinus passages. For the past 5 months I have had tingling sensations all over my body. It's much worse when I lay down, and it continues for hours and days at a time. I am pretty sure about this because even if I only use nasal spray it will create this effect intensely, and can last for days or longer before subsiding again. I found myself in a vary bad way when I retired Army and divorced in Aug 2002. This is when it started, and went on consistently and aggressively until Feb 2013. I stopped entirely at that point.

Thank You Sincerely for any advice you can provide. I am sure you might have to tell me things I may not want to hear. Your candor will be appreciated sir.

Thank You Sincerely, XXXX

Brief Answer:
No need to apologize

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking your question. I happy to make recommendations to you to help and hope you find this information helpful. I am an adult neurologist and actually deal frequently with drug addiction issues in both the private as well as hospital practice settings.

The tingling sensations you are talking about which seem to be all over (generalized) may or may not be as a result of the substance abuse you're referring to but the only way to link these items would be to get a full physical and neurological evaluation in order to get more historical data regarding the onset of these sensations, their evolution, and then, to related all of that to your drug abuse vs. other possibilities.

Laboratory analysis of blood and urine would help determine if you may be suffering from any metabolic or nutritional deficiencies such as B12, Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium, folic acid, or other chemical/hormonal aberrations such as thyroid or adrenal gland disorders which could explain what's going on.

If this same sensation you mention comes on when you use nasal sprays then, it's possible that the nerve endings in the nasal mucosa or quite possibly your olfactory bulbs which are really at the base of your brain have been hypersensitized or pathologically sensitized by the chronic abuse of the substances you mention. It is possible then, that this hypersensitization of the olfactory tracts which are stimulated by these sprays somehow causes the brain to send out signals in response which are perceived as generalized tingling and so forth.

Now, if you are former military are you connected with the VA? If so, you can get an appointment with them and start the process of getting these issues taken care of....If you have your DD 214 which are your discharge papers and were honorably discharged then, you should be eligible to be seen in the VA.

Good luck.

I'd appreciate the favor of your providing a STAR RATING and some brief written feedback if your questions have been satisfactorily answered. In addition, CLOSING THE QUERY on your end will also be most helpful.

Don't forget that my webpage to keep me abreast as to how you're doing is:

bit.ly/drdariushsaghafi

I wish you the best in speaking with your physician. I'm sure he would be happy to engage you in a discussion as to his reasons as to why he believes what I've recommended will not make sufficient difference to implement anything...but just know that what I've suggested simply follows what we consider to be the standard of care in such patients...but this is not the only way to do things.

This query has required a total of 18 minutes of physician specific time to read, research, and compile the return envoy to the patient.
