Question: My penis has recently developed a kink, similar to a kink in a water hose. This kink is at the base and does not expand when the rest of the shaft swells as in an erection?

Thanks for query .

The kink at the base of the penis that you have noticed since very recent times is mostly due to disparity in two sides of Tunica Albugenia a sheath that envelops Erectile Bodies called Corpora Cavernosa.

I shall be happy if you can post me more details to help me in making precise comments
1) Do you palpate any hard nodule at the base of penis ?
2) Do you have painful erection ?
3) Do you have any difficulty in penetration of Vagina during Sex ?
4) Can you upload photograph of your penis on erection ?

Normally no treatment is advised if the curvature is less than 45 degree .A surgery to correct the curvature is advised if patient has difficulty in penetration of vagina during sex .
