Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

You might benefit from irrigation with saline.

You can use a nettipot and purchase or make saline solution. When you first start the irrigation, inhale slightly and you will get the solution farther back near your throat.

You can also purchase prepared saline spray such as Simply Saline, and this will help moisten the secretions.

You wrote that you are using nasal sprays. If this doesn't include a steroid spray, you might consider adding that.

Finally, guaifenesin that is sustained release, such as Mucinex, can help thin the secretions. For this to work, you need to drink a lot of water, at least 8 oz per 100 mg of the guaifenesin.

If the air is dry in your home, consider a humidifier.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

Well today is sat and swelling is down but itch is still bad and nothing I try stops the itch. The only thing different I m taking is mucinex and I m allergic to sulfa. I have takin before and no problems but got the dm max this time. Ugh. Help

Hi. My Daughter has a cough and rash on her forehead (tiny bumps) no fever, no itch no pain no other symptoms. Plays well, eats well and sleeps well. She has been taking Claritin for spring allergies and started on mucinex yesterday to keep her cough loose. I m puzzled by the tiny bumps on her forehead. The community pool just opened this past week so could it be the pool water?

Hi, I'm 20 years old and experiencing severely sharp pain in my ear that travels down to my neck and across my face. I can't hear in that ear either. This began about 6 days ago after getting a thorough ear cleaning from my ENT. I went to the emergency room 2 nights ago and the doctor there could not treat me. Although he did give me ear drops, mucinex D, amoxycillin and pain medicine. None of it has helped at all. Is there any home remedy to help alleviate the pain until I can go back to my ENT tomorrow? Do I have an ear infection and was it caused by the deep cleaning?

I have had a low grade fever (99.1-100.3) for 3 days, accompanied with a cough that feels like it burns in the upper part of my chest when I do so. Just today I noticed a white coating on my tongue. I ve just been taking OTC Mucinex D and iburophen off and on. Should I be concerned about the white tongue?
