Brief Answer:
seems to be sinusitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having frequent clearing of throat. I would like to ask you few more details.

Is there any burning chest or regurgitation of partially digested food comes into throat ?

Is your nasal blockage associated with post nasal drip (sinus secretions trickling back into throat) ?

As per your clinical details, it appears to be sinusitis causing reflux esophagitis secondary to deviated septum or smoking.

sinusitis, with its post nasal drip can induce laryngitis, asthma or reflux esophagitis.

I suggest the following measures to overcome your throat problem.

1. stop smoking.
2. Take ppi inhibitor with prokinetic (pantoprazole + domperidone) twice daily before food.
3. Amoxicillin 500mg thrice daily for 5 days (you need medical prescription).
4. Stop clearing the throat (repeated clearing can damage the pharyngeal wall, can lead to pharyngitis).
5. Take anti allergic medications like citrizine 10mg, one tab at bed time for smoker's cough.
5.Do steam inhalation twice daily.

In persistence of symptoms, you need to see your primary physician or ent surgeon to rule out other causes.
