Suggest Treatment For Constipation

Question: I have had constipation for a while now. Went to ER and they did a CT scan with contrast. Said I was constapated but saw no blockage. Also did Ultra sound, everything looked fine.
Went to Gastrolgist Monday, he. Did not do an exam, just listen to my stomach and said to give myself an enema. Can't give the kind he wants me to take which is the bag. I do not have access to my email. Can not get in for some reason. Can you alert me when you have an answer?

See as off now you are constipated and have to go for an enema(As written by you in ER) andvthat would definitely relieve you for the time being but in long terms enema is not a solution.
A complete change in lifestyle food habits plus calculated use of laxative have to be done there after to provide you relief in long terms.

Suggestions-
Start taking lactulose 15 ml once daily before going to bed.Its a laxative and would help you get proper bowel moments very safe and can be used for months.Doses can be as high as 30 ml per day.
A drastic change in life style is required to cure constipation. Not exercising enough, not drinking enough water and delaying a bowel movement can worsen constipation symptoms.The most important factor in curing constipation is a natural and simple diet.

Drink warm beverages, more so in the morning.
Add vegetables and fruits in your diet.Fruits and vegetables, which contain high amounts of fiber, aid in alleviating symptoms of constipation,Whole-grain bread, XXXXXXX oatmeal, beans and lentils can also relieve the problem so use it Instead of highly processed rice, eat brown rice, millet or bulgur.
-Eat 2 cups of fruit 3 cups of vegetables and about 35 grams of fiber per day
fruits: Generally all fruits, except banana and XXXXXXX fruit, are beneficial in the treatment of constipation.
Pears are beneficial in the treatment of constipation.
Guava fruit when eaten with seeds, gives roughage to the diet and helps in the normal evacuation of the bowels.
Grapes: have also proved highly beneficial in overcoming constipation. The grapes have the cellulose; natural sugar and organic acid make them a natural laxative fruit. Not only they clean the bowel, but also tones up the stomach and intestines to relieve the chronic constipation
All these things will increase the bulk of your stool,Will soften it and will clear your ileum of the compacted faecal material.
Drink up to four more glasses full of water in a day.
Have fibrous cereals.Have a wholesome diet rich in fiber. Good fiber sources are vegetables, legumes, fruits and multi grain bread like XXXXXXX
Eat a well- balanced diet with plenty of fiber. Good sources of fiber are fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole-grain bread and cereal (especially bran).
Drink 1 1/2 to 2 quarts of water and other fluids a day . Fiber and water work together to keep you regular.
Avoid caffeine. It can be dehydrating.
Cut back on milk. Some people may need to avoid it because dairy products may be constipating for them.
Exercise regularly. Do something active for at least 30 minutes a day, most days of the week.
Go to the bathroom when you feel the urge.
