Suggest Treatment For Constipation, Loss Of Appetite And Weight Gain

default
Posted on Tue, 16 May 2017
Question: I have had indications of strep, scarlet fever, constipation, loss of appetite, sensation of fullness, rapid weight gain, headache, throat irritation, chills. I am at a loss here and miserable. The illness started out with a few symptoms of strep throat, had a rash similar to scarlet fever, then sore throat. A letter from daughter's school of cases of strep and white dots on my tonsils prompted dr visit. By that time, I had loss of appetite and constipation. Those have only worsened with addition chills, notice of weight gain, bloating, and sensation of fullness. I have had my gall-bladder out. Also, developing lump in throat and tad of heartburn. What is wrong with me?

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern, No Strept on quick cultures is sensitive enough to rule out strept or scarlet fever per se. History of gall bladder out and acid reflux likely is the cause of this sore throat. Treatment is mostly supportive. Mainstay is losing weight, eating small frequent meals, avoiding dairy spicy and processed meals and chocolate, alcohol, soda beverages. Delay lying down after meals. Take some nexium and prokinetics like motilium for discomfort. Salt water gargles and throat lozenges can be taken for sore throat. Constipation is also part of this irritable bowel symptoms and needs supportive care with fluids, fibrous diets and laxatives.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
