Brief Answer:
MRI scan of shoulder needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain that you have is due to compression of the nerve root. The treatment that you have been given is correct and will relieve the symptoms gradually.
It is best to get an MRI scan of the shoulder also done to rule out any muscular problem or a tendinopathy. You can do a hot compress in the painful area and apply local analgesic gel like Volini. In case the pain is persistent then local steroid injections may help to reduce the inflammation. You can discuss the further treatment options after getting the MRI report.
I hope this answers your query.
