Suggest Treatment For Cold Sore

Question: I had a cold sore and I put garlic directly on it that section of my lip, then it appears I may have burned my lip because a few bumps appeared a little below the sore. I read online afterwards, that garlic can irritate your skin. I have been using lysine and lemon balm on the sore and I guess it appears to be healing, but I cant tell what the bumps are doing. A couple of them seemed filled with a tiny bit of fluid maybe like blisters. Any suggestions to get rid of them? Think it can be done by Monday morning? Thanks.

Brief Answer: mupirocine and acyclovir Detailed Answer: Hello The photographs are not very clear. I could see few yellowish bumps. Probably few of the cold sore lesions have developed bacterial infection. I advice ointment mupirocine ( anti bacterial) in night and ointment acyclovir ( anti viral) in morning and afternoon in such cases. My patients have got good relief with that. You too can try this combination. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you
