Suggest Treatment For Cold, Sore Throat, Swollen Right Eye And Upset Stomach
Question: Have had a severe cold since thurs and have not been able to eat or drink much due to sore throat and upset stomach. This am developed swelling on right eye and cheek and now feel it on left cheek and nose with numbing. have a history of facial and mouth swelling but have not experienced it for almost 2 yrs. would you recommend ER visit? Thank you.

1. steam inhalation 4 times a day
2. warm saline gargles 4 times a day
3. multivitamins course once a day
4. antibiotics as per local sensitivity
5. a brief course of dexamethasone
It's for a prescription for the last 2 and the history of eye swelling that you need to go to ER.
I suggest testing a MRV brain in view of eye swelling .

Went to ER they gave me a shot of benedryl, Did not get a script because of what seems to be a viral infection. Face is still very swollen this AM with upper lip now being involved, but I do feel better. I look like I went three rounds with a prize fighter. If this is tied into my autoimmune and my periods of brief dizziness I have experienced over the past two years, would MRV also help in making a diagnosis? Do not have great insurance and they keep denying my MD's request for brain scans. Thank you

I seriously doubt that it is just a viral infection.
As for autoimmune condition, that would need further work up.
As of now, I will just suggest that you try some anti allergies or mild steroids.
They work on both- a cold or viral and autoimmune conditions.
So we will cover at least 2 of 3 possibilities that we considered last time.
