Suggest Treatment For Cold, Sore Throat, Cough, Weakness And Dizziness

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Sep 2017
Question: I have had a cold for a week, mainly a sore throat and cough at night.
Yesterday I had x-rays which showed some bronchitis, so I started anti-biotics.
My concern and question is, why do I feel so weak and dizzy?
I have been on a super low carb keto diet as well.
Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
It can be partly due to infection and partly due to diet plan

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to HealthcareMagic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through.

Based on the history you have shared, it is quiet possible to be the symptoms being related to infection as many bacterial or viral chest infections also add up severe body aches and lethargy as the related symptoms, however for further reassurance if symptoms persist, blood workup for blood counts and serum electrolytes cam be done to rule out any fluctuations in it that can be reversed to improve the symptoms.

Low carb diet being another reason as it mainly works by cutting down the first and basic fuel of body that are carbohydrates, so that second line fuels like fats can be burnt so that can lead to a low energy state temporarily.

A rare chance of being the symptoms due to the antibiotics is quite possible but other symptoms doesn't point towards that and moreover in presence of obvious two causes that is less likely.

Meanwhile continue antibiotics and anti histamines and for current symptoms analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen can be used along side. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
