Question: My baby is 6 months old..past 2 days he has cold and blocking nose doctor prescribed contus drops and nasomet but i cant able to feed him because of his blocked nose..what can i do?

Hi
Thanks for writing to us. Nasomet is better to be avoided for blocked nose.
It contains xylometazoline which is given only in severe running nose with profuse watery discharge from nose.
In your child's case I would suggest saline drops like nasoclear one drop each nose before feeding which might help in relieving the obstruction.
Cold usually is viral in nature and will settle down in a few days.
If he becomes dull and has difficulty in breathing, consult your doctor again for re-examination.

Yes you can give ventorlin syrup.
Contus drops 0.5 ml each time 2 or three times a day would be safe.
